FAQ
If you have any questions that are not covered below please email us at hello@thelinedanceco.uk and we'd be happy to help :)
I've never danced before, will I be able to do it?
You will absolutely be able to line dance. We cater for all experience levels from absolute beginner all the way to advanced! You choose which to participate in learning/dancing and progress at your own rate.
I've been dancing for years, which session should I choose?
If you are an experienced dancer it may be worth trying our Tuesday class first as you may very well know all the lingo. But if you are unsure whether other styles of dance will translate just drop us an email at hello@thelinedanceco.uk and we'd be happy to advise.
Do I have to pay for a course?
No subscriptions here!
We are a 'pay as you go' class. If you can attend then payment is made at the door by cash or card.
Do I have to wear a cowboy hat and boots?!?
You do not have to 'dress up' to come line dancing. We suggest you wear the same as you would to any exercise class as it can get warm dancing, even though my personal preference is jeans and a t-shirt.
You wear what is comfortable for you! Footwear should be comfortable and suitable for lots of movement, whether trainers, cowboy boots or dance shoes (we've even seen Ugg boots).
I'm not sure if I'm too old for line dancing.
I can say with all confidence you are absolutely not too old for line dancing. Our age groups for sessions are late teens through late eighties/early nineties.
Dances are taught with variations for those who don't want to do certain moves (such as spins) so don't think you'll have to sit any out. If you want to dance we'd love to help!
What if I can't commit to every week?
Have a holiday coming up? (lucky) or a kids rehearsal to drop off at? (not so lucky), don't worry! We do several weeks of teaching a specific dance so if you miss a week or two you will be able to catch up in no time or you just catch one of the new dances for that week instead!
We also show video recaps of the teaches on our socials so you can see what's been happening and give it a go at home if you want to.
I don't like country music, is that all that's played?
Nope, line dancing is done to all varieties of fast and slow tempo music - and I do mean all - it covers current popular music, old classics, remixes, dance music, 90s/00s tracks and of course... (the best type) modern country hits.
This sounds really fun. Where do you do classes?
Check out our classes schedule available on our CLASSES page. This tells you exactly where to find us and what time you need to be there. Any queries though, just send us an email and we'd be delighted to help.
